This is Canavalia maritima (Bay Bean); a plant we discovered on a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico.  It's an extremely effective potentiator and vasodilator when mixed with just about any favorite smoking herb, but has curious properties all its own.  And this amazing herbs is one of the latest discoveries in the world of all-natural and synthetic-free smoking herbs.

Baybean is a ground-based vine that climbs and forms small trees, much like Rivea Corymbosa.  It's leaves are elliptic and it blooms are stunningly beautiful purple flowers that fruit into woody pods.  Recently, the active alkaloid has been isolated from this plant and it's called "L-Betonicine."  One may wonder why active alkaloids are relevant, but for this plant, they are particularly relevant since Bay Bean is a natural herbal product that is regularly smoked in Mexico as a legal substitute for Marijuana.
